Chester Kenneth Vasquez Gonzalez is a young talented contemporary painter from San Juan la Laguna. He currently exhibits in galleries in Panajachel and San Pedro -- I bought this painting in San Pedro in February of 2010. The best of Gonzalez work present a somewhat surrealistic air. His portraits are also outstanding.

This painting is oil on stretched canvas, and measures 16x20 inches. It is signed in the lower right "CK Vasquez". It is a portrait of don Geronimo Quicain, the husband of the first female "curandera" (can be translated as doctor or healer) of San Pedro.
