Traditional Man's Pantalones from Santa Catarina Palopo #2

Man's pants ca. 2000 from Santa Catarina Palopo, on Lake Atitlan

This pair of man's pants was handwoven on a backstrap loom in four panels, and are of 100% cotton. This type of pantalones is of the style traditional worn by the men of Santa Catarina, usually for special occasions. The finely woven geometric designs were added using the technique of supplemental weft brocading. All lower edges are hemmed, the upper edges at the waist are very nicely selvage-finished

Measurements: waist width 24 inches; length waist to hem is 33 inches.

Condition: Very Good used with light wear and some light soil possible. Pictures of both sides are shown. This pair of pantalones is a very nice example. Please see close-up photos for small areas of wear and repair from usage.
