San Martin Chile Verde Cinta #3A

Hair cinta measuring 3.5 inches wide and 93 inches long
This Maya hair sash or cinta was woven in one piece on a backstrap loom. The village of San Martin Sacatepequez is located in Quetzaltenango department, and is locally known as Chile Verde. The fabric base is cotton, and the designs are of mixed cotton and synthetic threads. They were added during the weaving process using the technique of supplemental-weft brocading.

Dimensions are approx. 3.5 inches wide and 93 inches long. The ends have been finished with sewn fabric additions.
