- San Antonio Aguas Calientes Servilleta #9
Product Description
A used servilleta with a golden parrot and fruits and flowers
This is a traditional servilleta tzute from San Antonio Aguas Calientes. It probably dates from the 1990s. It was handwoven on a backstrap loom in one wide panel. The designs were added using supplemental weft brocading. Dimensions are 19.7 inches wide and 20 inches long, not including the long warp fringes. Background fabric is dark blue cotton with thin white warp stripes at the edges. The brocading is also of cotton, and was added using a complicated 2-sided brocading technique. The bottom picture shows the back of the textile, with only the central brocading showing.
Condition is Very Good, with some few very slight overall wear, otherwise this textile is in very nice used condition. This is a really nice older example.
