Product Description
A used servilleta with a row of roosters
This is a traditional servilleta tzute from San Antonio Aguas Calientes. It probably dates from the 1990s. It was handwoven on a backstrap loom in one wide panel. The designs were added using supplemental weft brocading. Dimensions are 21.5 inches wide and 27 inches long, including the warp fringes. Background fabric is green cotton with thin warp stripes. The brocading is also of cotton. The row of roosters was added using a complicated 2-sided brocading technique.
The bottom picture shows the back of the textile, with only the row of roosters showing. Condition is Very Good, with some few very slight overall wear, otherwise this textile is in very nice used condition. This is a really nice older example.
