Hugo and Rolando Simon are two brothers from San Juan Comalapa. They paint in very similar manner, and specialize in very detailed paintings of famous scenes in the Guatemalan highlands. This painting was purchased in 2007 in a gallery in Antigua.

This is an oil painting on stretched canvas, and measures approximately 10 x 8 inches. It is stretched but not framed. It is signed in the lower left corner "Rolando Simon" and titled "L. Atitlan -- Guatemala". The scene depicted is the town of San Antonio Palopo, with Lake Atitlan and two of its volcanoes in the background.
