Hugo and Rolando Simon are two brothers from San Juan Comalapa. They paint in very similar manner, and specialize in very detailed paintings of famous scenes in the Guatemalan highlands. This painting was purchased in 2011 in a gallery in Antigua.

This is an oil painting on stretched canvas, and measures approximately 8 x 6 inches. It is stretched but not framed. It is signed in the lower left corner "Rolandoo Simon" and titled "Atitlan Guat.". The scene depicted is Lake Atitlan as seen from the village of San Antonio Palopo, the volcanoes Atitlan and Toliman in the background.
