This Papago Indian basket was purchased in Arizona ca. 1960. There is attatched tag which gives the weaver's name as Martha Lewis of Bigfield. The label indicates that the basket was made as part of the "Papago Indian Self-Help Program" of Sells, Arizona. The diameter is just under 9 inches.
