Oil painting on canvas measuring 25.3 x 21.3 inches, stretched. Signed lower right with the stylized signature of Otto Gonzalez (see image below), a contemporary painter from Solola, Guatemala. The male workers wear the traditional Maya costume of Solola, complete with the morral (man's utility bag) and jerga or rodillera (man's hip-cloth, usually of checkered-design and all wool). Otto Gonzalez is the son of Lorenzo Gonzalez Mendoza, some of whose paintings can be seen on other pages of this site.
