Orlando Peren -- The Church in Nahuala

Orlando Peren lives and works in the Kakchiquel Maya town of San Juan Comalapa, which has a 60+ year history of painters in the naif style. He is the son of Oscar Peren, and currently lives and works with his family in their Gallery in Comalapa. He has exhibited widely in his home country, and has become an important and talented painter in his own right.

This is an oil painting on canvas measuring 12 x 16 inches. It was purchased in 2013 from a gallery of Orlando's cousin in Antigua. It is signed in the lower left corner "Nahuala OrlaP.". It depicts a view of the church in Nahuala.
