- Nahuala Traditional Cargador #8
Product Description
Older tzute used as a cargador or carrying cloth
This is a traditional tzute from Nahuala. It probably dates from the 2000s. It was handwoven on a backstrap loom in two panels, then joined with a simple overcast stitching down the center. Two edges are selvage-finished, two are hemmed. Dimensions are 37 inches wide and approximately 41 inches long. Background fabric is cotton of multi-colored stripes. I purchased this tzute from an old woman from Nahuala in 2012, and she told me it was about 10 years old.
Condition is Very Good, perhaps there are a few loose threads, since this is a used tzute. The first photo below is of half the entire textile. The photos which follow are close-ups.
Dimensions: approximately 37 inches wide and 41 inches long. This is an very nice older textile from daily use.
