Julio v. Apen -- Flying Kites

Julio Apen is a young painter from San Juan Comalapa. He specializes in very detailed paintings of scenes of everyday life in his home village. This painting was purchased in 2011 in a gallery in Antigua.

This is a miniature oil painting on stretched canvas, and measures approximately 4 x 3 inches. It is stretched but not framed. It is signed in the lower rightt "Julio v. Apen" and titled "Barriletes". The scene depicts three children flying kites on the street in Comalapa. The painting is actually more finely detailed than my photograph.

This painting comes with a small wood easel, also made by the artist. Overall height of the easel is 6 inches, see photo below.
