The painting depicts market day in the village of Santiago Atitlan, on Lake Atitlan. The people are wearing traditional costumes of their village. The painting is signed in the lower right corner with a PC monogram for "Paco Cumez". Chico and Paco are both familiar names of Francisco Cumez, whose paintings are sold in art galleries around Lake Atitlan. This painting was recently purchased in Panajachel, and is in Very Good condition.
