Oil painting on canvas measuring 20 x 16 inches, stretched. Signed lower right "Jose A. Cortez". The artist lives in one of the towns on the shores of Lake Atitlan. It is titled in the lower left "Nacimiento de nino Dios". This painting shows the birth of Jesus, with the parents in native Guatemalan dress, and an eclipse going on at the same time. The painting probably dates from the late 1990s, since there was a total eclipse in Guatemala at that time.
