Classic San Juan wedding huipil in very nice condition
This ca. 1980 wedding huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom. The foundation is of 100% cotton, and is of very traditional geometric designs. The designs were all added during the weaving process using supplemental weft brocading, and they are of mostly cotton with perhaps a few synthetic threads. It consists of three panels, seemed together with a very fine though simple stitch. All six of the lower panel edges are selvage-finished. Original adornment around the head-hole is retained. The sides of the garment are not stitched. This is a quite attractive example of a very traditional San Juan wedding huipil.

Measurements: approximately 42 inches wide and 21.5 inches shoulder to hem

Condition: Excellent, very lightly used, some very slight soil is possible.
