- Huipil Patzicia #5
Product Description
Child's huipil measuring 23 inches wide and 16 inches long
This post-1980 daily use huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom. Like the huipiles from its neighboring town Patzun, the foundation material for this Patzicia huipil is a very soft and supple polished cotton thread called locally aleman, possibly because many years ago the thread was imported from Germany. The designs were all added during the weaving process using supplemental weft brocading. It consists of two panels, seemed down the center. In this case the randa is comprised of a decorative figural stitch. All four lower edges are beautifully selvage-finished. The stitching under the arm-holes is also present, and this completes the wearable garment.
Measurements: 23 inches wide and 16 inches shoulder to hem, more or less.
Condition: Excellent, very lightly used, some very slight soil is possible. This is a very nice child's huipil.
