Hugo and Rolando Simon are two brothers from San Juan Comalapa. They paint in very similar manner, and specialize in very detailed paintings of famous scenes in the Guatemalan highlands. This painting was purchased in 2011 in a gallery in Antigua.

This is an oil painting on stretched canvas, and measures slightly 6 x 8 inches. It is stretched but not framed. It is signed in the lower leftt corner "Hugo Simon" and titled "Atitlan Guat.". The scene depicts Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes Atitlan and Toliman, as seen from the village San Antonio Palopo.
