Magical realism is a school of Ecuadorean painting whose founder and major proponent was the painter Gonzalo Endara Crow (1936-1996). Frederico Fuentes was a student and is a follower of Endara Crow. He currently paints and sells his paintings in Quito. He paints in the style of Endara Crow, and many of his paintings reflect themes taken from Endara Crow's paintings.
