Product Description
Oil painting on stretched canvas measuring approx. 17.5 x 21.5 inches
Francisco Sajvin is a young artist who lives in the village of Santa Catarina Palopo, on Lake Atitlan. I purchased this painting in 2008 from his mother, who sells textiles in Panajachel. Francisco is self-taught, and paints in his own unique style. His color palette is less vibrant than many of the other painters of the region. This painting depicts a traditional Maya ceremony in a cave overlooking Lake Atitlan, in the village of San Antonio Palopo. The man isl dressed in traditional traje.
Oil painting on stretched canvas measures 17.5 x 21.5 inches. Signed lower right "Francisco Sajvin" and without stated title.
