- Francisco Sajvin -- Feeding Turkeys in Santa Catarina
Product Description
Oil painting on stretched canvas measuring 18 x 15 inches
Francisco Sajvin is a young artist who lives in the village of Santa Catarina Palopo, on Lake Atitlan. I purchased this painting in 2008 from his mother, who sells textiles in Panajachel. Francisco is self-taught, and paints in his own unique style. His color palette is less vibrant than many of the other painters of the region. Many women in the villages raise chickens and turkeys for domestic consumption, and to sell.
Oil painting on stretched canvas measures 18 x 15 inches. Signed lower right "Francisco Sajvin" and titled lower left "Santa Catarina Palopa". Sorry, I cut off the signature and title when I took the picture, they were at the very bottom of the image.
