Oil painting on canvas, measuring 16 x 20 inches, stretched. Signed lower left "Batzin", for Felipe Batzin Navichoc, a Maya artist who lives in San Pedro la Laguna on Lake Atitlan. Batzin sells his works in the art galleries in San Pedro and Panajachel. His portraits are characterized by very detailed treatment of clothing and facial expressions. This painting is of a woman in traditional native dress from Palin, and was painted recently.
