Diego Isaias Hernandez Mendez is a contemporary Guatemalan Mayan painter who lives on Lake Atitlan in the small town of San Juan la Laguna. He specializes in works depicting the accidents and other troubles common in the daily lives of the people, often depicted with humor. He illustrated a small children's book entitled Trouble Dolls: A Guatemalan Legend, published in the U.S. in 2000.

This is an oil painting on unstretched canvas, and measures approximately 20 x 24 inches. It is unstretched and will be mailed rolled in a hard tube. It is signed in the lower center "D. Isaias Hernandez" and titled in the lower left "Atacados por un enjambre por el olor de las flores" (Attack of a swarm because of the odor of the flowers). This painting was recently purchased in Santiago Atitlan, and is in Very Good condition.
