Child's Gorra #11

Large older Child's hat from San Pedro Sacatepequez
This child's gorra was woven in a single panel on a backstrap loom. The person from whom I bought it told me it was from San Pedro, located in the department of Sacatepequez, near the ancient colonial capital of Antigua in southern Guatemala. It measures 10.5 inches wide and 24 inches long. Both ends are selvage-finished. Condition is Very Good, with some light soil and a few pulled threads. This textile was purchased in 1998.
