This hardcover book was published in 1977 by the National Geographic Society. Both ancient and contemporary Maya cultures are discussed, using the typical National Geographic easy-to-understand writing and numerous colorful photographs. Though an introduction to Mayan culture, this book is quite informative and provides useful information about the Maya during the 1970s.
