Product Description
Andean woman's manta measuring approximately 34 x 39 inches
This is an all wool woman's manta. It is made from handspun wool, hand-woven on an Andean loom. The two panels were joined with a fine colorful chevron stitch. The dyes appear to be a mostly natural with a few synthetic dyes possible. The foundation fabric is all natural-color dark brown sheep wool. I would guess the date to be ca. 1960. There is no tubular edging, the edges are all selvage finished. The two panels are almost identical, as can be seen in the first photo below.
Condition is Very Good, light wear to edges, no noticeable holes, light soil possible. The corners curl slightly. There are no holes, stains, or other major flaws. One small circular area of soil can be seen in the first photo.
