Benjamin Mendoza is a contemporary Tzutujil Maya artist from Santiago Atitlan. His paintings are sold in the Mendoza family gallery in Panajachel. This painting was purchased in 2006

This is an oil painting on stretched canvas, and measures approximately 24 x 31 inches. It is stretched but not framed. It is signed in the lower right corner "Be Mendoza Taca", and is untitled. It is, however, a copy of a painting by Carmen Pettersen, and can be seen on page 229 of her book Maya of/de Guatemala. It depicts a woman and child from San Juan Atitan in traditional traje or native costume. Price includes some extra shipping cost for the oversize item.
