Oil painting on canvas measuring 23 x 34 inches, not stretched. Signed lower right "Jose Antonio pur Gonzalez"; Jose Antonio lives in one of the villages on Lake Atitlan. Titled lower left center "Trabajadores de Atitlan", this painting depicts "Workers of Atitlan". Men can be seen harvesting, packing and carrying coffee, as well as cutting sugar cane. The women are spinning cotton and weaving the garments, carrying firewood, harvesting coffee, and cooking and serving tortillas and atol, the local Maya drink made from a thin cooked corn gruel.
