Signed "Jose Antonio pur Gonzalaz" in the lower left, titled "Mercado de Noche Atitlan" in lower right corner. Traditional markets in the Tzutujil Maya town of Santiago Atitlan occur both during the day and during the early night. This market scene depicts the latter. The first photo is of the entire painting. The last two images below show the two halves of the painting in closer perspective -- first the left and then the right halves of the painting.
