Declaration of Havana woodcuts
The Cuban Revolution of 1959 produced a surge in artistic expression. In the graphic arts, this was expressed in social and anti-imperialist themes. The Consejo Nacional de Cultura published in 1961 in Havana a large portfolio titled "Declaracion de la Habana: 40 Xilografias Cubanas". Included was the text of the Declaration, biographies of the participating artists, and 40 wood-block prints in black on light cream-colored paper. Sheet size is 19 x 14 inches. The following images are for sale. They are all original wood-block prints. Condition varies, so please read the descriptions carefully.
