Feliciano Bal lives in the town of Comalapa, which has a 60+ year history of painting in the naif style. Born in 1943, Bal started painting at an early age. He was exhibiting in the collective exposition in Comalapa by 1968, and has made his living by painting. Bal has exhibited nationally in Guatemala, and has had international expositions in both Germany and the United States. I bought this painting from the artist in his gallery in Comalapa in 2004.

When I bought this painting from Bal, he told me it was painted in the nearby village of Santo Domingo Xenacoj, in about 1980. It is in very nice condition. Oil on canvas measuring 16 x 24.5 inches, stretched. Signed lower left "Feliciano Bal, San Juan Comalapa"
