Desideria Montoya (1889-1992) was the sister of Maria Martinez and a potter in her own right. She lived in the New Mexico pueblo of San Ildefonso.

This small pot is polished blackware. Measurements are 2.6 inches diameter at the top, base diameter 1.4 inches, and height 1.5 inches. There is a finely incised script signature on the bottom "Desideria" which is barely discernible in the bottom photo.

Condition: Very Good, no cracks or chips, very slight abrasion to the glaze in the interior bottom, one tiny pinhead-sized glaze flake in the rim.
