Panajachel Huipil #3

Panajachel Huipil #3

Manufacturer: N/A
SKU: G-T-H-Pan-3
Price: $30.00
This item is in stock
Quantity:
This post-1980 daily use huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom. The foundation fabric is cotton. The small quetzal bird, cat and other designs were added during the weaving process using the technique of supplemental-weft brocading. They were also made using cotton thread. The huipil consists of three panels, seemed along the sides. three lower edges are selvage-finished, and three have cut warp fringes. The adornment around the head- and arm-holes is retained. The side stitching, which makes the huipil into a finished garment to be used, is still present.

Measurements: 23 inches wide, and varies from 16 inches long from shoulder to hem. The huipil is the same design both front and back.

Condition: Very Good, used, with some loose threads and light soil possible. This is an attractive and authentic garment.
