This is a very intriguing Western hat. It is ade like a California Indian basket (Hupa, Karok, etc.) twined from split fiber that looks like a lake reed. The rim of the brim has been folded over and stitched like a fabric hem. The label inside reads "Hazer Hats by Moore", and another small label says the size is 6 3/8. There are no other marks or tags or any identification. There is a leather sweat-band inside the head, as can be seen in the photo.
Overall diameter of the brim is 14.2 inches. Condition is excellent, with no faults other than some dust from sitting on the shelf for years. There is a nice mellow yellowish patina, and the fabric does not look like it has been lacquered.
