This is an all wool woman's manta. It is made from handspun wool, hand-woven on an Andean loom. The two panels were joined with a simple zig-zag stitch, which is visible in the center stripe. The dyes appear to be mostly vegetal. The foundation fabric is all natural black sheep's wool. I would guess the date to be ca. 1960. There is a simple tubular edging, of a single color without any design. The two panels are almost identical, with only slight variability one would expect from a handmade textile.
Condition is Very Good, light wear to edges, no noticeable stainss, light soil possible. One small hole (repaired) can be seen in the final photo.
