Huipil San Andres Semetabaj #2

Huipil San Andres Semetabaj #2

Manufacturer: N/A
SKU: G-T-H-SAS-2
Price: $75.00
This item is in stock
Quantity:
This post-1990 daily use huipil is made from all cotton, hand-woven on a backstrap loom. The traditional geometric designs were added during the weaving process using the technique of supplemental-weft brocading. It consists of two panels, seemed down the center. All lower edges are beautifully selvage finished. The embroidery adornment around the head- and arm-holes was added using machine embroidery. The stitching down the sides, under the arm-holes, which makes the huipil into a finished garment as used by the Maya women, has been removed for display purposes.

Measurements: 37 inches wide and 26 inches shoulder to hem.

Condition: Very Good, lightly used, some very slight soil is possible; this is a very clean and very finely-woven huipil.
