This wool morral is from Nahuala, Solola Department. It is dated 1991 and was purchased new, so it is in excellent condition. The bag appears to be crocheted or knit, but is fairly thick and has what look like floating wefts on the inside. It measures 17 x 18 inches, and the attached strap was woven on a belt loom and is also wool. It is attached at one end, and the length can be adjusted by tying the other end through the loop. Width of the strap is 2.8 inches and length is 43 inches, woven in a complicated warp-faced weave. The maker has also included his initials " S X G ", the date "1991", and his village "NAHUALA, SOLOLA" in the design. The two sides are different, and the images are below.
