This is one print from a series of images of the Maya town Chichicastenango, painted by the famed Guatemalan artist Humberto Garavito (1897-1970). The prints were produced in fine quality offset printing, on medium weight paper, by Byron Zadik & Co. in Guatemala City. The portfolio was produced in the 1940s. This print is titled "The Market Place". It pictures people of the village in the market place, which lies in the town center in front of the Cathedral. The photo below is of the portfolio cover, which is not in very good condition.

Size: sheet size 14 x 18.3 inches, image size 11.6 x 14 inches

Condition: lightly browned and lightly foxed around the edges, not affecting the image.
