This is the first of six different portfolios of color plates from Carmen Pettersen's book Maya of/de Guatemala. The portfolio was published in 1977. It contains 10 different costume prints, reproduced from Pettersen's watercolors in the collection of the Museo Ixchel de Traje Indigena in Guatemala City. Nine of the images are single sheet, and one (Solola Market) is a folded sheet. The sheets are good quality stiff glossy paper stock, excellent for framing. The nine single-sheet images are:
Almolonga (male costume)
Almolonga (female costume)
Santiago Atitlan (male and female costumes)
Solola (male and female cofradia costumes)
Solola (male and female daily use costume)
Panajachel (man and woman with children)
San Antonio and Santa Catarina Palopo (Lake Atitlan)
Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan (male and female costumes)
Nahuala (male and female cofradia costume)

Size: sheet size 9.4 x 11.8 inches for the single sheet, folding sheet measures 15.5 x 11.8 inches

Condition: Excellent, light rubbing to portfolio cover.
