Maya Wood Pipe #1 -- Dog

Maya Wood Pipe #1 -- Dog

Manufacturer: N/A
SKU: G-A-MP-1
Price: $22.00
This item is out of stock
Quantity:
The Maya Indian men, particularly those in the altiplano around the town of Nahuala, carve wooden items for their daily use. Pipes and hondas (slingshots) are the items most commonly encountered.

This very nicely-carved wooden pipe has a metal liner in the bowl. Overall length is 2.3 inches, height is 1.5 inches. The brown patina is very convincing. Note also the small blue-painted eyes. There is also old-looking burned tobacco in the bowl. The problem is, the hole in the stem does NOT go through into the bowl. The pipe cannot be used, and is probably a modern copy. Nevertheless, it is a very nice piece of work.
