Various utilitarian bags and tent hangings are made by village and nomadic tribal peoples in many parts of the world. The Turcoman peoples of Afghanistan and Central Asia make specialty hangings in this form to place over the doorway to their yurt. This form is called a jallar paidar. This particular hanging is tightly woven pile weave. It is made of all wool pile on a cotton foundation, and is in very nice lightly used condition. The colorful fringe hanging from the bottom edge of the central section is mostly present and somewhat uneven. And the long tassel hangings from one of the end flaps is somewhat unwound.

Measurements: aproximately 55 inches maximun length, 10.5 inches wide in the center and 21 inches wide at the ends
