This old wool morral is from Quiche, from the region around Zacualpa or Joyabaj. It is 20-40 years old and in very nice condition. The bag appears to be crocheted, but is fairly thick and has what look like floating wefts on the inside. It measures 13 x 12 inches and is in very nice condition, with no major noticeable holes or stains; some light soil is possible, there is one small repair. The attached strap was woven on a belt loom and is also wool. It is attached at one end, and the length can be adjusted by tying the other end through the loop. Width of the strap is 2 inches and length is about 36 inches, woven in a complicated warp-faced weave. Both sides are the same design.
