Product Description

This post-2000 young woman's huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom. The foundation fabric is cotton. The finely-brocaded geometric designs were added during the weaving process using the technique of supplemental-weft brocading. Brocading is of cotton threads. The huipil consists of three panels, seemed at the edges to form the garment. The lower edges all have cut warp fringes. The adornment around the head- and arm-holes is retained. The stitching at the sides, which makes the huipil into a finished garment to be used, is also present. The brocaded designs are on all three panels and are very fine.

Measurements: 28.5 inches wide across the body, and 17.5 inches, more or less, shoulder to hem.

Condition: Very Good, lightly used, shows mi nimal wear, some slight soil possible
