Oil on canvas mounted on board, measuring 21.5 x 15.5 inches
Oswaldo Moncayo signs his work "O. Moncayo". He was the oldest son of the painter Hector Moncayo, and painted some of the finest miniature paintings. Oswaldo died in 1986.
Oil painted on canvas, then mounted on stiff board, unframed. Size of painting is 21.5 x 15.5 inches. This is a scene of the volcanoes known as the Ilinizas, showing also a typical highland Andean family with their 2 donkey pack animals, the family dog, and their possessions. The painting shows light craquelleur and possible slight surface soil. Otherwise, the painting is in very nice condition, and needs only framing to be completely presentable. Signed lower right "O. Moncayo", and titled lower left "Los Iliniza Ecuador".
The first photo below shows the entire painting. The second photo is a close-up of the central area. The third is of the lower right corner with the signature. The final photo is close-up of the family group.
