Product Description

Oil on canvas mounted on board, measuring 22.5 x 17 inches
Oswaldo Moncayo signs his work "O. Moncayo". He was the oldest son of the painter Hector Moncayo, and painted some of the finest miniature paintings. Oswaldo died in 1986.

Oil painted on canvas, then mounted on stiff board; framed in a possibly period gold gilt wood frame. Size of painting is 22.5 x 17 inches without the frame, 27 x 22 inches including the frame. This is a rather strange painting of a village in the high Andes. The painting is slightly soiled. Otherwise, the painting is in very nice condition. Signed lower right "O. Moncayo". There is no title.

The first photo below shows the entire painting with frame. The second photo is a close-up of the central area. The third is of the lower right corner with the signature. The final photo is of the long house in the right center--notice the small cross on the top.
