Oil on paper with sight size 3.6 x 3 inches, framed
Oswaldo Moncayo signs his work "O. Moncayo". He was the oldest son of the painter Hector Moncayo, and painted some of the finest miniature paintings. Oswaldo died in 1986.
This is a superb, very finely painted oil on paper. Size of painting is about 4.2 x 3.6 inches, and the sight size is 3.6 x 3 inches. Total size of the frame is 7.5 x 7 inches. Pictured is a typical Andean family scene with volcanoes in the background. The painting is in good condition, with light surface soil and some light abrasion in a few spots; there is also some paint loss in the center doorway of the hut. These flaws are noticeable on close examination, but from a distance the image is quite attractive. The painting is framed with a painted solid wood frame. It is ready to hang. Signed lower right "O. Moncayo", untitled.
The first photo below shows the entire framed painting. The second photo is a close-up of the painting itself. The final photo is of the back of the picture.
