Product Description

SORRY this pipe has been SOLD
Old pipe of full figure of a horse, somewhat crudely carved
The Maya Indian men, particularly those in the altiplano around the town of Nahuala, carve wooden items for their daily use. Pipes and hondas (slingshots) are the items most commonly encountered.

This fairly crudely carved wooden pipe has a metal liner in the bowl. Overall length is 3 inches, height is 1.6 inches. The brown patina looks genuine, and every indication is that this pipe was undoubtedly made to be actually used, probably by a native of the Nahuala region. There is burn residue in the bowl and around the stem-hole. A quarter is included in the picture for size comparison.
