Child's hat from San Pedro Sacatepequez
This child's gorra was woven in a single panel on a backstrap loom. The person from whom I bought it told me it was from San Pedro, located in the department of Sacatepequez, near the ancient colonial capital of Antigua in southern Guatemala. It measures 8 inches wide and 19 inches long. Both ends are selvage-finished. Condition is Very Good, with some light soil and a few pulled threads. This textile was purchased in 2008.
