Santo Domingo Xenacoj child's hat
This child's gorra was woven in a single panel on a backstrap loom. It is from the Maya town of Santo Domingo Xenacoj, located in the department of Sacatepequez, near the ancient colonial capital of Antigua in southern Guatemala. It measures 8 inches wide and 20.5 inches long. Both ends are finished with cut warp fringe. Condition is excellent, since it was bought new from the weaver in 2012.
