San Pedro Sacatepequez child's hat
This child's gorra was woven in a single panel on a backstrap loom. It is from the Maya town of San Pedro Sacatepequez, located near the ancient colonial capital of Antigua in southern Guatemala. It is still sewed together as used. It measures 7.8 inches wide and approx. 6 inches in diameter. One end is selvage-finished, the other is hemmed. Condition is Very Good, perhaps with some slight soil. Age is approximately 5-10 years, purchased in 2019. The pictures below are of the two sides.
