- Book: Maya of/de Guatemala by Carmen Pettersen, FINE condition
Product Description
Carmen Pettersen was born in Guatemala City in 1900 and spent much of her life painting the life and dress of the indigenous Mayan people. Her watercolors have been reproduced individually in many places, and the majority of her original work is in the permanent collection of the Museo Ixchel de Traje Indigena de Guatemala.
This book is titled Maya of/de Guatemala, Life and Dress / Vida y Traje. It reproduces 60 of Pettersen's watercolors. Most are in full-page color images, but some are double-page. Each is accompanied by text both in Spanish and in English.
